Boomrock Wellington hospitality venue for sale

Wellington’s premier hospitality and entertainment venue, Boomrock, is for sale as a freehold going-concern offering astute owner-operators or investors a foothold in the capital’s niche events and accommodation sector.

Located on a clifftop within expansive Papanui Station in Ohariu Valley overlooking the Tasman Sea, the multi-faceted Boomrock business coexists with a working sheep and beef farm.

Papanui Station has been in the Eastwick Family for three generations, with Boomrock established in the late-1990s and successfully operating on its own title for 27 years. Boomrock is for sale through Mark Hourigan and James Higgie, Bayleys Wellington Commercial, with tenders closing 27th February 2025.

Hourigan says Boomrock offers stakeholders an investment in a proven and enduringly-popular brand with significant growth potential both nationally and internationally.

Hourigan says given the scale of the landholding, the hospitality and guest accommodation offerings could be expanded with no compromise to privacy, and there’s also potential to subdivide some of the land, with due process undertaken.

“The unique self-contained two-bedroom Pipinui Point accommodation enjoys almost 100 percent occupancy. Extra accommodation capacity with no compromise to the existing amenities could be pursued to leverage both the domestic market and the higher-spend international visitor sector that’s seeking authentic New Zealand experiences.
