Our journey to securing our home was nothing short of an emotional rollercoaster — a drawn-out process full of twists, turns, negotiations, and even a multi-offer curveball. Throughout it all, we mostly dealt with Carly, and her support, patience, and professionalism were second to none. Ashleigh did most of the kōrero with Carly in the beginning, and we tried our best to stay emotionally detached — but when it became a multi-offer situation, it hit us hard. There were tears, stress, and that awful feeling of possibly losing a home that holds deep personal and whānau connections. This house wasn’t just real estate for us — it was about coming home to Whangārei and Otaika, about reconnecting with whenua, and in a small but significant way, reclaiming a piece of what’s ours as Māori. Carly was there every step of the way, guiding us with integrity and genuine care. When Ashleigh needed to step back from the emotional toll, I stepped in — and Carly remained steady, responsive, and understanding. Even when things went quiet and we were considering withdrawing, Gabe came in with empathy and honesty, giving us the clarity we needed. Finally, on Friday the 7th of March, after what felt like a lifetime of waiting, we received the call — an offer was on the table. One quick phone call between Ash and I later, we accepted and went unconditional on our new home. Carly is an incredible agent — trustworthy, a fantastic communicator, a skilled negotiator, and someone who truly listens. This whole process could have been much more overwhelming, but her presence made a huge difference.
